  • Pus
  • Sputum
  • Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)
  • Vaginal sample
  • Other samples. Consult the laboratory for other samples for the culture of bacteria.

The delivery of results depends on the bacteria to be analyzed, consult us for more information.

Bacteria are a wide group of unicellular microorganisms. They can live in different parts of the body. Some types of bacteria are harmless and even beneficial, others cause infections and diseases. A bacterial culture test can detect harmful bacteria in the body.

During a bacterial culture test, a sample of blood, urine, skin or another part of the body is taken. The type of test depends on where the infection is suspected. The cells in the sample are placed in a special medium to promote cell reproduction and see if they are infected and thus be able to perform an effective treatment.
